On October 30th the server was updated with the Hey0 Server Mod, otherwise known as hMod, to help keep organization. Additionally, Diamond blocks, water buckets, and lava buckets were disabled. This is the current version of MineRealm. Today's system is not so different from 3.0. Though, the most important feature added in 4.0 is a new map seed to account for Minecraft 1.0's new terrain generator, end portals, apples, mellon seeds, blaze spawners, and new nether structures. All public land in the overworld, and the entire nether was wiped along with the 4.0 update. The map hasn't been wiped since Minecraft beta 1.6. As of the 4.0 update, the server also runs on an SSD server. This may reduce lag issues that were present in 3.0. Another part of 4 is a new chat format, and a new spawn

"...Many players believe the name “MineRealm” originates from the idea of realms. In actuality, the name refers to the more literal sense of the entire server map being a “realm” itself."
Servers
MineRealm has three officials servers: the Survival server, the Creative server, and the Party server. The Survival server was created with the goal of being a vanilla SMP server, with very few to no modifications to gameplay. The Creative server is the second MineRealm server. It was built with the goal of giving the players a very unique and easy way to create art, therefore on this server players have an unlimited amount of blocks in every type (including leaves and sponge) in each player's inventory, and health is disabled. The Party server is a server sometimes hosted by Intelli, and is usually used to host different types of games, although only one has been created as of Jun 1st, 2011, and Apocalypse Server, a server where during the day the world is on fire and at night a increased amount of mobs. The Apocalypse server has since then been disbanded due to low numbers of players.

History
On October 28th, 2010, 3 days before the Minecraft Halloween update, MineRealm was officially released to the public on the Minecraft Forums running Minecraft Alpha 1.1.2_01. MineRealm was advertised as a legit vanilla SMP server, and therefore only featured the default commands and features of the Minecraft Alpha servers. The server, which was referred to simply as the MineRealm server, was hosted on game.minerealm.com. During the time of it's release SMP was just starting to be developed, therefore the server lacked health damage as well as many other features that Minecraft Beta SMP has today. On October 30th the server was updated with the Hey0 Server Mod, otherwise known as hMod, to help keep organization. Additionally, Diamond blocks, water buckets, and lava buckets were disabled. The next day....
MineRealm 2.0
This category invludes all the versions of minerealm prior to the release of the realms system. This includes the very first map, all the way through to the end of the Kurachi era. + Minerealm 2.0
Minerealm 2.0 was a major update that included the realm update. This version of minerealm is still in use today.

MineRealm 3.0
This update brought a major change to the way MineRealm worked. This major update brought realm Credits and changed realms over to Plots. Realm credits can be earned by breaking and placing blocks. Many regarded this as a change for the better, encouraging people to merge their cities. However, cities from 2.0 quickly re-emerged and people began to reconsider the change. Today, people generally prefer this system to 2.0, but most of the long time players (Pre-2.0) think that minerealm should go back to a no realm system. (Plots are currently former realms)

Frequently Asked Questions
How Do I Connect?
Open Minecraft, Click Multiplayer, Click "Add Server", Name the server whatever you wish, under address put: game.minerealm.com

Where is a public plot?
To find a public plot, just walk in a straight direction out of spawn.

Can I have OP?
No.
This is a legit server, not even the staff members have OP.
Server Reviewers will also not get any type of moderator powers.

How do I earn Credits?
You earn 0.5 credits per block placed or removed.

How do I buy Land/Plot?
Once you have acquired 10,000 credits, you may purchase any public plot of land for 10,000 credits with the command /plot purchase.

Why Can't I Build?
You can't build because you are probably situated in a private plot. Private plots are purchased by other players for 10,000 credits or more.
The owner can build there and give permission to other players. Chances are they're not going to let just anybody have permissions.
Keep walking or take the public teleporter at Spawn. The teleporter takes you to a random public spot in the world.

Can I Build with Someone?
That is totally up to a generous player to decide. It also helps if you are somewhat near them.
Spamming does not help.

Is there PvP?
There is on the Survival Server but only in The Nether and The End. You can personally enable PvP for yourself via the command /pvp.

Are there mobs on this server?
There are mobs on survival.
Many players have killed off all the ones near spawn. The farther you get from spawn, more likely you are to see them.

What are Plots?
Plots are areas of land that are owned/controlled by leaders and members of the plot. Plots are only in the survival server.<br>
For most information on plots visit MineRealm Forums: Getting Started With Plots.<br>
The plot system was changed as of the 3.0 update, some information may be out of date(just change any of the commands to plot instead of realm)

Can a Mod teleport me?
No, mods do not give out teleports.
Mods are there to assist you with troubles, not joy rides.

Does The Nether Work?
Yes, The Nether is accessible via nether portals in the same way as Notch's server software or most Bukkit servers. PvP is always toggled in The Nether on the Survival Server. The Nether also does not allow you to use /home or /spawn while in it. You have been warned.

Does The End work?
Yes. The End does work, but you are not able to leave it unless you die from some various reason. As such, you are not able to bring out End Stone.

Spritzo is a former admin who has been with Minerealm since October 2010. He became a moderator in mid December and was later promoted to admin by Intelli. He was admin for a few months and left unannounced. Spritzo returned many months later and requested a [Retired] tag from Intelli. Instead, Intelli gave him an [AWOL] tag, meaning Absent Without Official Leave, due to his unexpected, unannounced absence. Spritzo now checks into the server occasionally to see how things are going. He currently belongs to the "Cobblestan" realm. This realm name is an inside joke amongst Spritzo, jdankk, Stalin4Time, and blip.

Minerealm 2.0 and Team Avolition
During Minerealm 2.0 a griefing group known as Team Avolition (also known as Team aVo) attacked the Minerealm Survival Server. Someone discovered their destruction within Kurachi and called Intelli and Spritzo over to stop them. During this time, Spritzo was using the, now famous, Ronald McDonald skin which creeped out Team aVo. One of the aVo members was destroying a door of a building, trying desperately to enter the building when Spritzo teleported to that player. The aVo member turned to see Ronald McDonald staring him down. Soon after, all the aVo members were banned from Minerealm.

Spritzo became well known all over the server, and became well known on other servers after people had mentioned that they had seen the aVo video with Ronald McDonald in it. Since then Spritzo has changed his skin, retiring Ronald.

The plot system was changed as of the 3.0 update, some information may be out of date

Plot FAQs
How do I create a plot?
It is not possible to "create" a plot, as all plots are already defined on the map. You can, however, purchase a plot. To see info about the plot you're presently in, type "/plot" at any time.

How do I purchase a Plot?
Plots can be purchased by typing "/plot purchase" when standing within a plot. You can't purchase plots already owned by another player. To purchase a plot, you must pay 10,000 plot credits.

The plots surrounding spawn were sold for 50,000 plot credits each.

Can I sell my Plot?
Yes. Simply type "/plot sell" within the plot. Selling your plot will give you back what you paid for it, minus a 10% fee. Optionally, you can sell your plot to another player, and specify your own selling price. To do this, type "/plot sell <user> <price>".

What do Plots do?
Plots protect all blocks you place within the plot, so other users can't remove them. Additionally, other users can't place blocks within your plot. Also, any chests that you place within your plot can't be accessed by other users. Plots also give you the ability to set a MOTD for the plot, which will be shown when a user enters the plot.

Can I have more than one Plot?
Yes. There are no restrictions regarding the number of plots you can own.

Can I let other players build within my Plot?
Yes - to give a user building privileges within your plot, simply type "/plot member <user>" within the plot. Optionally, if you wish to remove building privileges that you've granted for a user, type "/plot member <user>". To view users that you've granted building privileges, type "/plot users".

How do I set the Plot MOTD?
To set a MOTD for a plot, simply type "/plot motd <message>". This message will be displayed whenever a user enters a plot. You can set the MOTD for plots you own.

Is there a way to group chat with users building in my Plot?
It's recommended you use the Guilds System, which enables you to group chat with a set of specified users. Information regarding how to use the guild system can be found in-game, by typing "/help guild".
Minerealm's survival server is the first of the three SMP servers which Minerealm obtained.
This is a legit SMP server, which hosts a mod which allows players to create "realms", which are the cities of Minerealm. This server can hold up to 150 players at a time.
<br /><br />
<!-- replace these with text -->
Survival 1.0
MineRealm 1.0 was the first Survival server, after health and mobs could be enabled on SMP. Prior to this, minerealm hosted a creative server.<br/>

Survival 2.0
MineRealm 2.0 was the first installment of Intelli's custom server plugin. The system allowed players to create a 30x30 realm that was essentially theirs. They could add other members and leaders to the realm. Each player could only have one realm, and only be a member of one realm. Realms were also free in this version, and realms would expand dynamically as blocks were added to the realm.

Survival 3.0
MineRealm 3.0 is the system as we know it today. Players earn credits for breaking and placing blocks, and can purchase a realm for 10,000 credits. Players can lead any amount of plots, and be a member of any plots they wish. Within a plot, non-members cannot do anything. Opening chests is even deactivated for them. Each plot is 50x50. (Plots are currently former realms)

Survival 4.0
Minerealm is currently in 4.3 and some of the major changes are: parties are now guilds, a new spawn, and new chat format

Other notable changes in 4.0:
All public (unowned) land was reset, the Nether was reset, the world seed was changed and "The end" was added.

The MineRealm plots system is a unique aspect of the Survival server, enabling users to claim land. The entire survival map is divided into 40,000 (50 x 50) plots. Within a plot, the plot owner can grant building privileges to other users. The system also does not force players on the server to be individualized.

* plots are not on the Creative server or Party server.
